Today I was all over the place. Between cleaning and working on stuff for Pintertesting it’s amazing I’m still awake right now. I’d love nothing more than to curl up in a blanket and take a nap.
The first thing I tested this morning was a DIY floor cleaner. My mom was going to be out of the house and I wanted to surprise her with something special.
INGREDIENTS
Oils & Vinegars
1/4 cup | White vinegar |
Liquids
2 gal | Tap water |
Other
1 tablespoon liquid dish soap | |
1/4 cup | Washing soda |
I used this on our kitchen floor and both bathrooms. It got a good amount of dirt up, and I would use this again. I was mostly hit with the pleasant smell of the dish soap, but occasionally I smelt the vinegar. I’d recommend using with the windows open.

I’m not sure this works better than traditional floor cleaner, but it’s a great, cheap method to clean the floor with ingredients you already have at home. This got a lot of dirt up from my parents bathroom. (We do NOT by any means live in a “messy” home. Linoleum just picks up a lot of dirt that’s hard to get with a vacuum). I would use this again. |
